This afternoon, the Town of Weymouth celebrated the topping off of the new Maria Weston Chapman Middle School construction project!
The milestone we celebrated today has been years in the making and is thanks to the advocacy of the Weymouth Community and, in particular, the ‘Yes for Chapman’ campaign. It was their support that allowed me, Rep. Murphy and Speaker Ron Mariano to secure $57.3 million in state funding to move this project forward and make it affordable for the citizens of Weymouth. The new state-of-the-art facility will be one of the largest middle schools in all of Massachusetts and will provide additional support for our educators and more opportunities for our students to reach their full potential.
Thank you to all who played a hand in making today happen – I’m excited for the day when students can start using the building.
