Our Team

The South Shore deserves full representation every day, seven days a week. It’s a lot of work, but thanks to my team, we have accomplished so much and enjoyed every second of it. If you haven’t already met the six amazing members of my staff, I wanted to take this opportunity to share a bit about them.

Greg Denton, Chief of Staff

Greg Denton has been serving as my Chief of Staff since I was first sworn into office in 2016. Greg is truly a jack of all trades; he manages the day-to-day operations, assisting with policy research, constituent cases, local initiatives, and everything else in between. Greg is the glue that holds the office together to ensure that everything is running smoothly. Previously, Greg worked as an Executive Director in Senior Healthcare and Memory Care Management and as an assistant director with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

Thomas Skehill, Legislative Director

Tom Skehill joined the team in March 2023. As my Legislative Director, Tom conducts policy research, crafts our legislation, and tracks legislation of interest to the office. If you have a question or concern regarding any proposed bill or existing law, or have a new idea for a piece of legislation, Tom is happy to assist you. Tom has served in various roles in local government and graduated from Suffolk University in 2019 with a B.S. in Policy, Philosophy, and Economics and in 2022 with an M.A. in Applied Politics.

Michael Murphy, Constituent Services Director

Mike Murphy has been working in the office since June of 2016. As Constituent Services Director, Mike works to ensure that our constituents receive the services they deserve from our state agencies. Whether you need assistance with MassHealth, the Department of Unemployment Assistance, obtaining a handicap placard, or anything else, Mike is happy to assist you. Prior to this role, Mike served for nine years as an Instructional Assistant for students that have social, emotional, and behavioral disabilities in the public schools system.

Meaghan Sheeran, Communications Director

Meaghan Sheeran has been the Communications Director for my office since March 2024. In her role, she works to execute a comprehensive media strategy, consisting of screening incoming media requests, contributing to speech writing, drafting and circulating press releases, and managing my official social media accounts across various platforms. In addition to this, Meg handles inquiries with local media outlets to ensure that my legislative priorities and local initiatives can be communicated effectively. Before coming to my office, Meaghan worked in the Senate Office of Finance and Administration for six years and graduated from Boston University in 2021 with a BA in Political Science, and from Boston College in 2023 with a MA in Political Science, with her major specialization being American Politics.

Elizabeth Vater, Legislative Aide

Elizabeth Vater previously interned in the office before becoming a legislative aide in March 2024. Elizabeth’s role consists of aiding in budget analysis, preparing background materials, replying to constituents’ messages, and attending meetings and events in the district. She attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst and received a BA in Communication with a minor in Spanish.

Lou Rizzo, District Coordinator

Lou Rizzo has worked as District Coordinator since 2017. In this role, Lou meets with constituents in the district, attends local events, and relays constituents’ questions and concerns to our office on Beacon Hill. A lifelong resident of Weymouth, Lou worked as a Package Car Driver for UPS for over 38 years, and certainly knows his way around the district.
