Congratulations to the Town of Scituate on the opening of your new Humarock Fire Station!
The former station was over 80 years old and simply did not meet the standards needed for firefighting in today’s world. Plans for a new station have been years in the making and I am very proud to have played a small role by securing $100,000 in 2018 to assist with some of the structural repairs. I’d also like to send thanks to South Shore Regional VoTech whose students assisted with portions of the building.
The fire department responds to over 3,100 incidents per year – including many natural hazard calls – and it’s important that our first responders have an appropriate base from which to conduct their public safety operations.
