I am happy to report that this morning, Scituate’s plan to build a new Hatherly Elementary School took a major step forward. Scituate was one of just 15 districts across the Commonwealth to be invited into the MSBA’s eligibility period. This invitation will allow the Town to partner with the MSBA to develop formal plans and potentially receive significant investment from the state to complete the project.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to tour the Hatherly and Cushing Schools with Rep. Kearney and the Superintendent to better understand the needs of the district. The plan Scituate submitted calls for consolidating Cushing and Hatherly, which were both built in the 1960s, and building a new school to serve those students.
I’m looking forward to supporting the Town over the next year in their efforts – congratulations again!
