What a difference a year makes – last April, Weymouth held a topping off ceremony for the new Maria Weston Chapman Middle School, and today I had the opportunity to tour the inside of the space.
The building has made a lot of progress and it’s easy to see how the facility will help our students achieve their full potential. This project would not have been possible without the high-level of community support and the ‘Yes for Chapman’ team – it was that support that made it possible for Speaker Ron Mariano, Rep. Murphy, and me to secure $57.3 million in state funding to assist with the construction.
I’m excited to see the building open to our students soon!
