This afternoon I joined nurses on the picket line at St. Vincent Hospital as they fight for a fair contract with appropriate staffing levels.
As the son of a career NICU Nurse, I know just how deeply our nurses care for their patients and that they have always put patient needs above their own. In the past year, we have witnessed this truth time and again.
Since going on strike on March 8th, Texas-based Tenet Healthcare has spent $5.4 million to hire replacement workers. That money would have been better spent on providing adequate staffing levels within the hospital.
I’m proud to stand with the 800 St. Vincent nurses represented by the Massachusetts Nurses Association in their effort.
