I had a great conversation with some of our young people on the South Shore regarding action we can take to help end tobacco use among our youth. This year’s Kick Butts Day, the 26th occurrence of the event, served as an opportunity to reflect on how far we’ve come and how far we still need to go.
In those 26 years, youth smoking rates are on a downward trend and at an all-time low. However, skyrocketing youth e-cigarette rates are reversing the progress we’ve made toward achieving the first tobacco-free generation.
Thank you to those who joined the conversation - I'm looking forward to working together in the future to build on the progress we've made.
