Yesterday, I had the honor of welcoming and recognizing a superb athlete from our district during session. Patrick Geagan is a thirteen year old runner from Weymouth. In February 2020, Patrick accomplished an incredible feat. He set the world single age record for running a 10 mile road race in just 1 hour 5 minutes and 48 seconds. This is awe inspiring regardless of one’s age, but to accomplish this at such a young age is incredible.
It was great to have Patrick and his family, Christina, Andrew and Colin, at the State House. I am so proud and inspired to see such a young individual from the district so be dedicated to athletics. Congratulations to Patrick and I look forward to seeing what records he breaks next.
