Yesterday, my colleagues in government and I gathered in Scituate to urge the U.S. Coast Guard to revisit its decision to eliminate the seasonal station in the town.
Over the past year, we have witnessed a spike in boating activities that has unfortunately coincided with an increase in the need for Coast Guard services. Removing the station could mean adding minutes to emergency response times in dire situations, where seconds can often make the difference.
We’ll continue to keep up the advocacy efforts to ensure the station remains in place moving forward – thanks again to those who have added their voice to this cause.
