It was great to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day again with my friends at the Weymouth Council on Aging this afternoon. It was a new take on an old tradition as the Corned Beef and Cabbage Luncheon became a grab n’ go event with 361 meals given to local seniors.
In addition to the meal, my colleagues in government Rep. Murphy, Bob Hedlund Mayor, Weymouth Councilor Maureen Kiely District 2, Councilor Mike Molisse and I handed out complimentary gifts to make the day more festive. My office gave out personal letters enclosed with a shamrock patch with the USA flag to symbolize the incredible relationship between the USA and Ireland.
I know the last two St. Partick’s Days have been a lot different than what we’re used to, but I am optimistic that we’ll be back celebrating together again next year.
