Medal of Honor Convention Tour Visits Duxbury Schools

This morning, Medal of Honor recipients Captain Florent Groberg and Lt. Colonel William Swenson visited Duxbury Schools to share their personal stories and answer questions from students about their life experience. The Medal of Honor is the United States’ highest military award for valor, and these two men went above and beyond the call of duty for their nation.
Each of these men put themselves in harms way to protect their fellow soldier time and time again. Reading their stories provides a greater perspective on the challenges faced by those who served in Afghanistan over the past twenty years and their efforts to help the people on the ground. When you have a moment, I strongly encourage you to read the accounting of their acts of heroism.
It was an honor to meet Lt. Colonel Swenson and Captain Groberg and I cannot thank them enough for their service and sacrifice.
