This past weekend, Nick Savage and Charlie Cotter became Duxbury’s newest Eagle Scouts! It was fantastic to be able to join Nick, Charlie, and their friends and family for their Court of Honor ceremony.
Nick’s capstone project focused on creating a small park area within the Nathanial Winsor Jr. House grounds and restoring the fencing around the property. After 366 hours dedicated to the project – planning, coordinating volunteers and vendors, and doing the work – the space that houses the Duxbury Rural and Historical Society looks better than ever.
Charlie’s project involved rebuilding a 9-hole mini-putt golf course at the Brockton VA Health Center. Charlie raised funds to complete his project by earning money through bottle and can drives at the town transfer station – he was then further supported through some generous donations by local businesses. Now, the course is in good shape and available for all VA members, their family members, and staff.
Congratulations again to Nick and Charlie – we’re proud of you!
