This week, I had the opportunity to thank Chief Ross for his 33 years of dedicated service to the Norwell Police Department and congratulate him on a well-earned retirement.
Chief Ross began his career in law enforcement at just 19 years old working as a police dispatcher and worked his way up the ranks until he became chief in 2006. Under his 14-year tenure as Chief, the department began offering new initiatives such as self-defense classes, a medication return box program, and several programs to raise money for charity. He also oversaw the addition of a deputy chief position, a full-time school resource officer, and worked with the town to open a new public safety complex in February 2015.
Congratulations again to Chief Ross – we’re wishing you well on your next chapter!
