“Some of the most crucial parts of the legislative process happen in committee,” said State Senator Patrick O’Connor (R-Weymouth). “Most notably, we receive valuable feedback from residents when legislation is put up for a public hearing. This step allows us to adjust the legislation, limit unintended consequences, and provide better outcomes. There will be a lot to tackle in the two years ahead, and I am excited to work with my colleagues and the public to make a positive difference.”
"Time and again, Patrick O'Connor has proven himself to be a conscientious legislator who is guided by a strong sense of fiscal discipline and a commitment to championing those priorities in our communities that need and deserve state support,” said Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr (R- Gloucester). “That is why he will be once again playing a leadership role as the Ranking Minority Member on both the Senate and Joint Committees on Ways and Means, where his influence will be critical to spending billions of dollars in ways that make sense and that make a difference. His strong work ethic is also reflected in membership on 16 other legislative committees, that will benefit from his insight and perseverance."
Senator O’Connor represents the Plymouth and Norfolk district, which includes the towns of Cohasset, Duxbury, Hingham, Hull, Marshfield, Norwell, Scituate, and Weymouth.
