Congratulations to Hingham High School History Teacher Christina O’Connor on being named the 2021 Massachusetts History Teacher of the Year!
After some delay, I was able to join Christina and her students this afternoon to surprise her with a Citation from the Massachusetts Senate formally recognizing her achievement. In 2021, parents, students, teachers, and administrators nationwide nominated a record 8,510 teachers for the History Teacher of the Year Award. Amidst a very competitive field, Christina was named tops in Massachusetts.
Christina has been with the Hingham High social studies department since 2002, and it was clear from her interactions with students today just how lucky we are to have her on the South Shore. Congratulations again!
